12 Pillars
Svarog created 12 Pillars of Power, which support the heavenly vault. Every Pillar is protected by a guard, and inside of the Pillar burns a spark of Sacred Stone Alatyr, feeding the Pillar with its power. Svarog collected 12 different powers, and with help from other Gods placed the Pillars around the world, to support the firmament.
1st Pillar burns with the power of fire, it contains the ancient first fire.
Hark! The firmament seems to be falling on the heads of all earthly creatures... no, this is Divine Svarog smiting the Alatyr Stone with his Hammer, and as fiery stars fall from the heavens at night, did the sparks of the first fire fly in every direction. Svarog caught one of the sparks and created the first Pillar. It shone brighter than the sun, so bright that it hurt the eyes to look at it. He plunged the Pillar into the breast of Mother Moist Earth, the ground parted and a fiery river poured out of the Mother Earth. Svarog then walked away from the Pillar, shading his eyes with from the unbearable heat, looked at his creation and rejoiced. A giant, brightly burning Pillar stood in the middle of a fiery swamp, massive fiery gates slightly open and waiting for Svarog's children to come and claim the power of Fire. Flaming rune in the middle of the Pillar burned even brighter than the Pillar itself, and a spiral fiery staircase led to the very top of the Pillar, where lay a blazing seed of the First Fire.
2nd Pillar is filled with the power of Mother Earth
Svarog called to Mother Earth, and shared his thoughts with her. Mother Moist Earth heard him and blessed him, and he scooped up a handful of earth and sculpted the Second Pillar, which was equal in beauty to its Mother. It was made completely from stone. Svarog put down his creation; the Pillar put down its stony roots deep into the Mother Moist Earth, and merged with her forever. There is only a hall at the base of the Pillar for Svarog's children, and a stony staircase which leads to the very top, where lays a seed of earth, blessed by the Mother Earth.
3rd Pillar - Shines with the power of thunderstorms and lightning
Svarog shouted, calling all thunderclouds to him, and ordered them to sting the ground with lightning... ground shook and charred from the great flashes. Svarog shouted again, from the power that pierced his body like lightning, and absorbed so much of the thunderstorm power that the clouds were completely drained and could not sting him anymore. They could only weep with rain, pouring their tears of exhaustion on the God's shoulders. Svarog shook himself, squared his shoulders, and with his Divine Power created a thunder seed, which contained the might that he drained from storm clouds. He placed that seed on the top of the third Pillar, which was built as a receptacle for it. Svarog then took up a spear and pierced the Pillar from top to bottom, so that the spear would touch the clouds. He ordered the clouds to guard the spear and help His children, who would come, seeking help. He placed the altar in the bottom part of the Pillar, and carved a Divine Rune into the Pillar, which filled it with its power. He, who controls this Pillar, will control all lightning and storms.
4th Pillar - The power of the winds roars through it.
Svarog called on the God of winds, Dogoda, and asked him to create the fourth Pillar, and then breathe the power of the winds into it. Dogoda molded the shining Pillar from multicolored precious stones, put colorful sails onto it and ordered the Pillar to stand strong and straight forever, unless Svarog should will it otherwise. Svarog was overjoyed, for Dogoda' Pillar was beautiful in its glory. He breathed air into his hands, created the seed of Winds; laid it into the Pillar, and then Dogoda blessed it. The Pillar shone brighter than ever, and the seed glowed brightly on its very top.
5th Pillar boils with the power of the World Ocean.
Svarog called out to the sea depths, and God Pereplut appeared to him. When Svarog told of his deeds and the Council's decision, Pereplut believed him and together with Svarog, built a Pillar from sea salt and seashells from the very bottom of the ocean. Sea salt sparkled in the sun. Scintillating water cascaded in waterfalls from seashells, and a marvelous lake spread around the Pillar, gloriously shining like a rainbow in the sunlight. Pereplut put the might of the sea into the Pillar, and Svarog reinforced it and laid a sea seed into the top of the Pillar.
6th Pillar contains all knowledge and might of the Svarog's mind
Svarog created an iron Pillar, and put all his wisdom and knowledge into it. He locked the Pillar with an eternal lock, so that only the chosen could find their way to this knowledge. Then he created a wise book, and ordered that only the man who possesses this book will be able to access Svarog's wisdom. The only place where the book can be read is on the top of the Pillar of Wisdom.
7th Pillar is the Pillar of life and health. Svarog put a drop of his blood into it.
Svarog built a Pillar from white stone, smooth and straight, shining with cleanliness and health. "May all illnesses depart from my children", said Svarog. "May they be pure of spirit and body, as this Pillar is pure", he continued and put a drop of his blood into a sacred vessel on the very top of the Pillar.
8th Pillar is the Pillar of death and despair, this is where all Svarog's suffering and grief are contained.
Svarog was grieved, sorrowing for the whole world, and he wept himself to sleep, deep and divine. In his sleep, he stood up and, not awakening from the deep grief, he built the eighth Pillar - Pillar of death and suffering. He breathed into it all that he regretted and grieved for. When he awoke, he was horrified with his creation, for the Pillar was terrifying and ugly.
9th Pillar - Svarog breathed into it power of forests and fields, and power of animals.
Dana, the Goddess of woods, found out about Svarog's task and decided to help him. A beauty with shining eyes and glowing face, who walked as though she was flying, she came to Svarog and put a seed into the ground at her feet. She walked around it, singing a song that called all the birds and animals to her. The seed grew, and grew, and then shot up to the skies. Knotty branches came out of the seed, entwined, and tangled, forming a mighty trunk, until a tree grew huge, all the way up the heavens. Then the Goddess finished her song, ordered the tree to live forever, and disappeared, melting into the morning mist. Svarog was pleased to watch her dance, and he smiled. Then he looked at the tree and was overjoyed to see a flower blooming on it some distance from the ground. There was a sparkling seed inside the flower, and beautiful tangled branches and leaves protected that seed. This seed, which contained the power of nature and life, pulsed like a heart.
10th Pillar is the Pillar of the soul.
Svarog placed a part of his soul into this Pillar, in that way he is always a part of the world, and the world is a part of him.
Svarog breathed deeply and began to sing.
11th Pillar contains all of Svarog's fierce rage.
Svarog remembered the evil that the cursed Serpent brought into the world, and he was overcome with fierce rage. He raised his Hammer in his anger, and smote a rock that stood nearby with such power that a sharp piece of the rock flew up high and plunged into the ground next to Svarog, sinking deep under its own weight. Svarog ordered that this shard would be the very point of his rage.
12th Pillar is the Pillar of Time
Khronos himself created it outside of time and space, and then placed into the middle of the heavenly vault. As soon as Svarog placed the eleventh Pillar, the heavens shook and darkness fell on the world. None of the creation could bear the endless power that was coming out of the Pillars, and the entire order was collapsing. Khronos saw the advance of chaos on the world, and interfered. He pulled out three threads out of time- past, present and future - pleated them together and created a Pillar from time and space. He tied it to the heavenly vault and placed it in the middle of the world, to stop the world from collapsing. The heavens stopped shaking, chaos drew back, and the world was balanced again, but how long for, we do not know.
