This is the first newsletter that the Community Manager of Craft of Gods will send to all players for a monthly update on the state of the game, on the novelties introduced and in general on current and future updates.
... ..
It has been a long ride the one that led us to launch Craft of Gods. The first closed beta was launched in November 2009 and since then Craft of Gods has changed very deeply. Many changes were introduced having listened to opinions and suggestions from players who during these months have enthusiastically attended the development of Craft of Gods.
We have completely redesigned the user interface, we made major graphical changes especially concerning combat animations, we have introduced new mobs, lots of new items, new areas including two epic Dungeons and the Pillars area for the clash between the two realms, and much more.
We have also introduced a starting area which has been modified several times trying to meet the desires of the players.
We focused a lot on being able to launch a product that is stable, without too many bugs and that had a complete line of content from level zero to level 60.
As many already know this game was designed for level 100, but we preferred to reduce the level cap at launch just to avoid coming out with a product that we could never verify in all gameplay aspects, as often happens lately.
We wish to thank all the players who have followed us during these months. They have been many and also the pre-order data genuinely surprised us. This goes to shows that we can try to offer a product which will never seek to be a copy of anything else. Craft of Gods is and will always be a MMORPG for people who love to play blithely, who want to feel again the thrill of old MMOs, to immerse themselves deep into the content, and for those who want to experience complete freedom.
It has been stated many times on our forum that we consider the launch the beginning of something, not the end.
Now let's see in detail what we intend when we talk about beginning.
Our future plans can be divided into three macro steps. Obviously this is the general design and I will provide you with details month after month.
The first step will be focused on solving new bugs and on balancing of experience and skills, and it will take place from the launch date up to 1-2 months. This does not mean that this activity won’t be conducted even after the first 2 months but during this period this will be our main objective.
Within 2-3 months after the launch we’re going to add new content and in particular the Flying Mounts, the Caravans and the Weather spells. The flying mounts will allow players to charm even birds and so to become able to fly into the world of Craft of Gods. The Caravans are groups of animals led by a merchant that roam from town to town. If a player runs up against a convoy, he may decide to escort it and protect it up to the next city. During the journey the caravan itself can be attacked and if you’re capable of leading it to its destination, the merchant will reward you according to the number of pack animals arrived unharmed.
The Weather spells affect the relationship between the weather in an area and the spells casted in the same area. If a group of magicians continues to use Fire School spells in an area, it increases the probability that the weather in that area changes, becoming sunny and sultry, and at the same time it increases the effectiveness of Fire spells.
It's very likely that there will be an increase in the level cap combined with new content.
This expansion will definitely be free of charge.
Moreover, we are already working on the first major expansion of Craft of Gods: Atlantis.
This expansion will introduce the third race, the Atlantians, namely those who are neutral towards the eternal war between Light and Darkness but who may line up with one of the two realms over time. Gifted with Psychic school and extraordinary race abilities, they risk of losing their main features if they choose to align themselves with one of the two contenders. Using this race you can and you must choose how to play: you may remain neutral and engage in PvE, or become a mercenary and follow one of two realms depending on expedience, or even make a radical choice in favor of one of the two realms.
These are the major news regarding Craft of Gods, we all hope that this can be the first in a series of letters addressed to you, always announcing exciting news for Craft of Gods!
